Dig. 2.14.2.1:  Pactum autem a pactione dicitur --- inde etiam pacis nomen appellatum est --- et est pactio duorum pluriumve in idem placitum et consensus [Moreover pact is derived from agreement (the word peace comes from the same origin) 2.
