On the same day Lazario
and a notary searched Mengho’s house. They found four skeins of silk. It was
identified as the stolen goods. Mengho was brought before Vecto at the bench
for criminal offenses next to the new city hall in Bologna. Vecto questioned
him about the evidence and the crime. The testimony of the witnesses was
read to Mengho in Italian. He denied everything. |
