1. Money should not be extorted from Indians
2. Spaniards should be human and affable (humani et affabiles) because the Indians are timid
3. Should only give them work suited for Indians
4. Contracts of Indians should be free from fraud
5. Indians should be protected and given counsel in any court case
6. If the courts treat Indians badly the matter should be taken to the "Indiarum Consilium"
