CAUSA XXIX.
It
was insinuated to a noble woman that a a certain noble man would seek to
marry her. She agreed to this marriage. Then a certain non-noble
man who was a slave presented himself to her as the noble suitor and took
her as his wife. The first man who had sought her hand came and asked
her to marry him. She complained that she was deceived and wished to
marry him. Therefore it is asked whether the first marriage between
them is valid? Second, if she thought that he was free and soon
learned that he was a slave, whether she could immediately leave him?
