Q. I. <Gratianus> Quod autem priori ecclesie hec omnia iure persolvenda sint, his argumentis actores probare contendunt.

<Actor> Constat enim unamquamque baptismalem ecclesiam habere dioecesim sibi legitime assignatam, sicut et parochiales ecclesie sibi distributas. <fol. 110>

<c.1> Unde Dionysius episcopus Seuero episcopo <Pseudo-Isidorian Decretal>

Gratian:  The plaintiffs vigorously asserted that all these things were rightly due to them with the following arguments:

Plaintiff (Actor):  It is clear that each baptismal church has a diocese assigned to it, and parishes are distributed in each.  The following decretal proves this:

Cambridge, Gonville and Caius College, 11/11, fol. 101

The produce of the tithes should be paid to the bapstismal church in the designated diocese.  Therefore because these fields are within the borders of our diocese and the produce of the tithes is legitimately is assigned to us, it must be paid to our church.
